AnTuTu Benchmark 8.2.4

A Great Benchmarking App

Want to buy a new phone and need to check out its performance? Looking to compare the hardware quality of your current phone with the phone you want to buy? Need to know about the technical details and performance data of the phone that you are currently using? AnTuTu Benchmark has been one of the most known Android apps for benchmarking various phones. The idea behind benchmarking is to check the phone's hardware performance and to see if it matches up to the hardware specs it promises. While the listed technical specs are true, the technology behind the numbers matters a lot and defines whether the phone will deliver on hardware specs it promises. An iPhone normally outperforms most Android phone processors even though its rated specification is not even close. It is here that a benchmarking app like AnTuTu Benchmark can come in handy.

AnTuTu Benchmark

AnTuTu Benchmark has a sleek design and it is very easy to get started with the app. The app has three main tabs. The first one is 'Test' and it is here that the app offers the option of testing your phone's hardware. The second tab is 'Ranking' and it is here that your phone is benchmarked against other phones. The third tab is 'Info' and it is for displaying the most detailed information about your phone.

The 'Test' tab is the benchmarking app's main feature. The only problem with AnTuTu benchmark is that this app doesn't provide the complete package. To run a benchmark test on your phone, you would have to install AnTuTu 3D and without it, there is no way you can test your phone. So, basically, when downloading AnTuTu Benchmark, you should download AnTuTu 3D as well to get started. Once you have downloaded the 3D app, the benchmarking can begin. The app rates the 3D quality, CPU performance, UX, and RAM. It does that in a 3-5 minutes test that runs a lot of 3D animations and processes and then calculates the performance of the phone based on these tests. You will get the total score on the main score and you can get the detailed score whereby each of CPU, UX, RAM and 3D scores would be listed. You can also 'Verify your Phone' though you would need another app for that. There is also the option of running a Screen Test. There are different types of tests available from checking for dead pixels on the screen to checking brightness and color display, there are four different types of tests to choose from.

The 'Info' tab is greatly useful as well in this benchmarking app as it gives detailed information about your phone. From the number of cores and their frequency to the display renderer and GPU version and from pixel density and multi-touch options to presence/non-presence of gravity, heart rate, linear acceleration etc. sensors, the app lists it all down for you to see.

There is a 'Search' option as well where you can search the phone you want to buy. If the phone model has already been benchmarked, you can compare your phone's score with the phone you want to see if you will be really finding an upgrade or not.

Features

  • A clean design
  • A reliable benchmark test
  • Detailed scoring for easier comparison between devices
  • Simple search option for comparison of benchmark scores for different phones
  • Awesome detail about the phone to understand the true technology powering the phone

Conclusion

AnTuTu Benchmark is a great benchmarking app which can be relied upon to tell you exactly how good your phone's hardware is. If you are unsure of the hardware specs being quoted by the manufacturer, AnTuTu's benchmarking score should surely clear all your confusion!
